A Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet was involved in a takeoff accident at Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport in Idaho, resulting in damage to the aircraft and injury to one person.

## Runway Under Repair

The accident occurred on a runway that was already operating with reduced length due to repairs. At the time of the accident, Runway 4/22 had 3,850 feet available for use, as a ruptured pressurized irrigation line beneath the runway had caused pavement damage.

## Construction Started Earlier This Month

Work on the damaged section of the runway began on August 5. Airport officials had reported that crews had removed pavement and started excavating the water line trench by August 1, four days before the accident. The work during the week of the accident was expected to focus on installing a steel sleeve for the line.

The airport had tentatively planned to restore the full runway by September 5. However, the shortened runway configuration had been in place since June.

### Accident Details

The Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet struck construction equipment and gravel while attempting to depart from the runway. The accident occurred at approximately 6:24 a.m. local time and involved two people aboard the aircraft. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
