Embraer Delivers 2,000th E-Jet to Azul
Embraer has delivered its 2,000th E-Jet, an E195-E2, to Brazil's Azul Linhas Aéreas. The milestone comes as the manufacturer continues to secure orders for its second-generation E2 series while facing development delays for the E175-E2.

Embraer delivered its 2,000th E-Jet on Wednesday. The aircraft, an E195-E2, was handed over to Brazilian carrier Azul Linhas Aéreas, a company the manufacturer described as a key operator of the type.
The delivery marks a significant point for the twin-engine narrowbody family, which first entered service in 2004. The E-Jet fleet has now accumulated 48 million flight hours and transported more than 2.85 billion passengers.
E-Jet Family Milestones
The E195-E2 delivered to Azul features a special commemorative livery with "2,000th E-Jet" painted on the left side of its nose. This aircraft is the largest variant within the newer, second-generation E2 series.
Embraer's E-Jets are known for their fuel efficiency and passenger comfort on regional routes. The family has solidified the Brazilian company's position in the global market for small narrowbody aircraft.
Current Market and Orders
Recent sales activity for the type has been strong. The manufacturer has secured orders for more than 500 of its newer E2 aircraft. These orders continue to build the backlog for the updated family.
However, the report notes that introducing the E2 series in the United States market faces specific challenges. These are primarily linked to pilot scope clause restrictions, which govern the size of aircraft that can be operated by regional carriers under their mainline partners' agreements.
Development Delays
The regulatory environment in the U.S. Has directly impacted one model's timeline. Development of the E175-E2, the smallest member of the E2 family, has been delayed.
The delay is attributed to the scope clause limitations, which affect the aircraft's potential deployment with U.S. Regional airlines. Embraer is contending with this issue as it works to expand the global reach of its E-Jet programme.
While the E175-E2 faces hurdles, the manufacturer continues to promote the advantages of the larger E2 models. The aircraft delivered to Azul represents the ongoing production and delivery success for these variants.
The company's milestone of 2,000 deliveries shows the long-term popularity of the E-Jet design. It highlights two decades of production and operation across global airlines.
